Fostering a CARES dog

Picture

Would you love to be part of helping a dog or puppy become a valuable partner of a school without the cost or lifelong commitments associated with pet ownership? We are looking for committed Houston, Texas and Grand Rapids, Michigan area families who want to provide positive experiences, boundaries and exposure for prospective CARES puppies and adult dogs.

Depending on the age of the dog, the expected time frame is two months up to one year with option to return the dog at any time if your situation changes. Houston or Grand Rapids based trainer will need access to the dog a few days a month during school hours to evaluate, this would be arranged in advance according to foster's availability. The main role of the foster is to get the dog used to a home routine, reinforce appropriate manners and behavior while having fun and allowing the dog to be a member of the family.

Interquest CARES will provide all necessary equipment, medical care, food, there is no cost to the foster family. In the event that the dog or puppy ends up not being a fit for the CARES program, the foster has the first option to make the placement permanent!

If you would like to learn more about our foster program, contact Tracy Patton, CARES Trainer.
